"Duque de Caxias" Project

The work constituted in building a play / leisure area as well as a place for the kids to do presentations together with more than 50 metres of walls to protect the kids from some abandoned land in the backyard area, full of rubbish, rust and barbed wire on the floor. The kids suffered the threat of getting diseases transmitted by rats and even horses that used to come across to the institution backyard.

The project that was initially planned to start in November 2003 and end at the beginning of 2004, started in September and was concluded in less than 6 weeks.

The beauty of this small project is that in few months of work, British and Brazilians united forces and managed to transform ideas & dreams into a reality that will bring lots of Short/Medium/Long term benefits to hundreds of kids.
This is more proof of how we can make a difference to those children, now they are protected against many diseases and insecurity and have a nice new area to play, and develop themselves.
